At this time, in the assembly, the Blessed One says to
the Venerable Ananda, you should know that there is a mantra called Fulfilling
Wishes, which makes one stay far from all harms, also capable of stopping all
violent lightnings; it is also spoken by the Tathagatas in the past. And now,
in this Sutra, the Tathagata will also speak of this mantra for the assembly.
This mantra brings great benefits for human and devas, having pity for the
world and as such it gives joy and peace to everyone. At this time, the
assembly together with the Venerable Ananda, having heard such words from the
Tathagata, one-mindedly regards the Tathagata and listens to the Fulfilling
Wishes Mantra. The Tathagata says, the assembly should listen: In the East (of
this place) there is a Thunder Lord called Agata, In the South (of this place)
there is a Thunder Lord called Satatru, In the West (of this place) there is a
Thunder Lord called Chu ta ba, to the North (of this place) there is a Thunder
Lord called Sutamani. Any sons or daughter of the lineage who hear the names of
these Thunder Lord, and know their position, will be free from all fear and
harms. If their names are written on the dwelling place, that place will be
free from the fear of Lightning, all kinds of harms and unfortunate incidents,
they will not die suddenly (in the wrong time), or die by the wrong causes. At
this time, the Tathagata speaks of the Fulfilling Wishes Mantra: Tadyatha
nimini nimini nimindhari triloka lokani trisurapani raksa raksa svaha; may
there not happens fear, suffering, lightning and piteous death for me and this
place.
At this time,
the bodhisattva Independent Observing the World, in the assembly stands up, lets
bare the right shoulder, holds the palms together respectfully and say, Blessed
One, now towards the Tathagata and say, Blessed One, now I, before the
Tathagata, also wishes to speak summarily about the Wish Fulfilling mantra.
This mantra brings great benefits to human and devas, pitying the worlds and
protecting it, bringing great joy to all. This mantra has great might and
power, able to fulfill all wishes. The great bodhisattva Chenrezig then speaks
of that mantra: Tadyatha gate vigate negate pratyarthake pratimitre sudhe mukte
vimale prabhasvare andare pandare svete Pandaravarsini Hari Kantari Kapili
Pingalaksi Dahdhimukhi raksa raksa svaha, may this place and me be free from
all fear and sufferings, even untimely death; may I not see all wickedness, and
often protected by the bodhisattva Chenrezig with His great Compassion Light.
At this time, the bodhisattva Vajra Attaching also
from his seat stands up, hold the palms together and say, Blessed One, now I
also wish to speak of the mantra called Non can surpass. This mantra brings
great benefits to human and devas, pitying the worlds and protecting it. This
mantra has great might and power, able to fulfill all wishes. The bodhisattva
Vajra Attaching then speaks of that mantra: Tadyatha muni muni munine hare mati
mati sumati mahamati ha ha ha ha mabha inasthite papa vajrapani aham ciri ca
svaha
Blessed One, this mantra is the unsurpassed
protection. I will day and night protect any son or daughter of the lineage who
one-mindedly upholds, copies, recite, keep in mind, so that they will be free
from all fear, and even untimely death
At this time, the Brahma king, the lord of the Saha
world system, also stands up, holds his palms together and respectfully says to
the Blessed One, Blessed One, I have a miraculous mantra. This mantra brings
great benefits to human and devas, pitying the worlds and protecting it,
bringing great joy to all. This mantra has great might and power, able to
fulfill all wishes. Brahma king then speaks the mantra: Tadyatha hili mili dhili
svaha Brahmapure Brahmamani Brahmagarbhe puspasamsthire svaha
Blessed One, this mantra of mine is called Brahma King
counteraction, it protects all those who uphold it, they will be free from all
fear, Karma retribution and even untimely death
At this time, Indra, the lord of the Devas of the 33,
also stands up, holds his palms together and respectfully says to the Blessed
One, Blessed One, I have a mantra called Vaja xani. This is an extremely bright
mantra. This mantra brings great benefits to human and devas, capable of
eliminating all fear, even untimely death, it bring joy to one’s life. Indra
then speaks the mantra Va ja xani: Tadyatha vini varini vandhamadante
maninetini Gauri Candali Matangi Pukkasi saraprabha hinamatya tama uttarani
maharani dharaniku cakravake savari savari svaha.
At this time, the Much Listening Heavenly king,
Protecting the world king, King of Growth, Quảng mục Heavenly king, such 4 great Heavenly
kings also stand up, hold their palms together and respectfully says to the
Blessed One, Blessed One, we also have a mantra called Bringing fearlessness to
sentient beings. This mantra often protect from all sufferings, giving them
joy, increasing longevity, free from all harms, even no untimely death. The
four great Heavenly kings then speak of the mantra: Tadyatha puspe supuspe duma
parihare aryaparisasidhe santini mukte mamgalye stute sidhavite svaha.
At this time, there are also Naga kings, such as the
Naga king Manasi, the Naga king Electric Light, the Naga king of the No-heat
lake, the Naga king True Electric (Điện thiệt), the Naga king Gentle Light, they
also stand up from their seats, hold their palms together and respectfully says
to the Blessed One, Blessed One, we also have a Wish Fulfilling mantra, which
can eliminate all Vicious Electric Flow, eliminating all fears. This mantra
brings great benefits to human and devas, pitying the worlds and protecting it,
bringing great joy to all. This mantra has great might and power, able to
fulfill all wishes, staying away from all untimely death, making all poisons
lose their efficacy, all vicious occult magic (gieo độc sâu cổ), voodoo and
attacking mantra, all unpleasant conditions will be eliminated. We now bring
this mantra to offer to the Blessed One, we pray that the Blessed One will
think of us and accept this mantra, so that we will no longer receive the
retribution of having a Naga incarnation, forever eliminating all greed, which
gives us so much suffering. We pray that, (due to the act of offering this
mantra to the Tathagata), we may eliminate the seeds of greed. The Naga king
then speaks of the mantra: Tadyatha acale amale amrte aksa ye abhaye punya
paryapte sarvapapaprasamanye svaha aliye pandu suparniye svaha
Blessed One, any son or daughter of the lineage who
speaks this mantra, or copies, upholds and recites, respectfully gives offering
to, that person will never suffer from lightning and all fears, sorrow or
worry, they will not even meet their untimely death, all poisons, demons,
voodoo, or leopards, lions, poisonous snakes, mosquitoes, will not come to harm
them.
At this time, the Blessed One says to the assembly,
how benign, all the mantras that you have spoken have great might, capable of
granting all wishes to sentient beings. They have great benefits, except for
those who are not whole-hearted and persistent (chí tâm). The assembly should not doubt
about it. The whole assembly, having heard from the Blessed One, rejoices,
trusts and accepts.
