The Bodhisattvas in the past upheld that method. That method is the mother of the bodhisattvas. The Tathagata having said so, Buddha receives an enquiry from the Saritu Elder, Blessed One, what is the meaning, and words that is contained in a mantra? Blessed One, mantras are not positioned (phi vị trí), not surpassing positions. When the Saritu Elder has said so, the Blessed One says, how benign, Saritu, now you have reached the Great Vehicle, trust in the great Vehicle and respect the great Vehicle. Just like what you said, mantras does not have a position (phi vị trí), yet not surpassing positions, not having a methods, a door yet not surpassing these doors (ways to enter), not past, not present, not future, not phenomenon, not surpassing phenomenon, not mutual, not surpassing mutuality, not changing, not surpassing change, none is born and none is destroyed. However, for the benefits of the bodhisattva, the Tathagata says- by means of power, righteousness, reasoning basis (lý thể) and capability, thanks to these 4 facets, the Tathagata establishes a mantra, and this is the fruit and results of the Tathagata, the precepts of the Tathagata, the learning of the Tathagata, the secret of the Tathagata, the birthplace of the Tathagata, as such, it is called the Mantra of leaving all Outflows, the supreme miraculous methods. The Tathagata having said so, the Elder Saritu says, Blessed One, may you teach us that Mantra. A bodhisattva who gains a firm hold on that mantra will never turn away from Unsurpassed Enlightenment, will make into completion their vows, achieving the state of leaving all Outflows, self-nature of eloquence, achieving greatly rare phenomenon, firmly abiding on the Saint’s way, all these are thanks to the Mantra of leaving all Outflows. The Blessed One says to Saritu Elder, how benign, just so, just like what you have said. If any bodhisattva attains and consummates this mantra, that person is no different from the Tathagata. Whoever gives offering to that bodhisattva, Elder, you should know that it is the same as giving offering to the Tathagata. Saritu Elder, besides bodhisattva, anyone who listens, upholds, recite and understand this mantra should be reverentially given offering to, just like to the Tathagata. Thanks to this cause, they will achieve the supreme fruit. The Blessed One says to Saritu Elder, any bodhisattva who skillfully abides in and exactly upholds this Mantra of leaving all Outflows, one should know that this bodhisattva in one eons to hundreds of thousand eons has made boundless great vows, the body is not harmed by weapons, poisons, water, fire or wild animals.
